Our private drivers, among the best chauffeurs in Ireland are always impeccably dressed, are all non-smokers and each have a vast knowledge of our country’s magnificent historical sites. You will be travelling in one of our top of the range Mercedes of your choice from the Executive Tours Ireland fleet. Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Limerick City.

Upon your arrival, your private driver will be waiting to transfer you to your accommodation of choice. Once settled, you are free to relax and enjoy the wonderful surroundings and explore the many amenities these illustrious hotels and estates have to offer. Or, maybe you want to hit the ground running, have a little breakfast and just take off. It’s entirely up to you. This is your dream vacation in Ireland!

Our first visit could be Bunratty Castle & Folk Park, one of Irelands most visited attractions every year. Dating back as far as 1425, Bunratty Castle was restored to its former glory in 1954 and now displays its 15th and 16th century furnishings, arts and crafts. The Castle sits enclosed within Bunratty Folk Park, a recreation of how typical rural Irish life was in the 19th century in all of its facets. Before you leave this tour you can avail of the opportunity to do some duty free shopping at the village Woollen Mills where you can find authentic Irish linen, gifts and stylish clothing.

A very short journey then to Limerick City, Ireland’s 3rd largest and Riverside city, known to the locals as the Lady City, and also Ireland’s Sporting Capital.  Limerick is also famous for it’s Angelas Ashes Walk as the scene of prize winning Author Frank McCourts’ formative years. There is just so much to do and see in Medieval Limerick. Take in the fantastic restaurants and bars that are laying Limerick’s growing claim to one of Ireland’s culinary strongholds.  There are coffee  houses and high street and high end stores aplenty as you amble through the pleasant Georgian architecture of the CBD. Limerick is home to the Munster Rugby Team, Twice European Rugby Champions. It is also home to one of the biggest University’s in Ireland too, the University Of Limerick. The historical sites here are in abundance, we recommend visists to King John’s Castle, St. Marys Cathedral, the Hunt Museum and St. John’s Cathedral to name but a few.

Return to your chosen hotel for an evening of relaxation or entertainment. An evening option here is the Medieval Banquet in Bunratty. In the Upper Great Hall, resplendent with its many 15th and 16th Century tapestries and furnishings, you will receive a goblet (or two!) of Mead, the chosen tipple of the era! Relax and enjoy as the Butler relays the rick local history before you can enjoy a medieval madrigal by the famous Castle Singers. At this point in the proceedings the Earl Of Thomond & his Lady are crowned before descending to the banquet hall where bench seating typical of the era, candle-light and long oak tables await hungry bellies. A pleasant 4-Course meal is presented and represents a balance of contrasting Irish meat dishes served during the period.  All of this is of course accompanied with music and song. After dinner, you can sit back, and soak up an entertainment program of Irish medieval and traditional songs and instrumental music.

Another evening option is to soak up some tradition Irish music and atmosphere in one of Limerick’s characteristic bars.  Listen to the fiddles and guitars, try some Irish stew and let your leg tap away to the beat.  You may have heard of the Locke Bar or Dolan’s Warehouse, just two hostellrys boasting music 7 nights!
