Kilmainham Gaol – steeped in Irish History
Dublin has so much to offer but some of the top attractions we’ll be showing you include the Trinity College Library, Kilmainham Gaol, the Guinness Store House, The National Library, and the impressive St. Patricks Cathedral. There will of course be plenty of opportunity for some retail therapy and we’ll show you the famous Grafton Street, a shoppers paradise!
Then our luxury vacation takes us on the drive to Co Kerry where we will savour all the delights of Killarney including ít’s famous lakes, Muckross House and gardens, Ross Castle, and the Torc Waterfalls. We also visit The Dingle Peninsula, my favourite place in the world and Slea Head. The scenery around here is just unbelievable. The pier and beach at Dunquinn is the quintessential Irish countryside we all know and love. We can lunch at Dingle harbour on some of the freshest seafood you can catch! The Conor Pass, The Gap of Dunloe, an Irish Jaunting car experience…its just so much fun, but we’ll be staying at some wonderful accommodation so you can stay refreshed and feeling super. Again we can help you choose from your preferred choice of four or five star hotel options from some of Ireland’s best known names in the business, The Killarney Park, The Aghadoe Heights, The Killarney Royal to name but a few.
After these few glorious days around County Kerry, we’ll venture further up west into County Limerick where we can enjoy Adare, Ireland’s prettiest village. With rows of thatched roofs like they were yesteryear, boutique shops, quaint cafes, and pubs full of chat, banter and music there is nowhere quite like it! We’ll stay in either Adare Manor or the Dunraven Arms both in the heart of Adare and conveniently located to all amenities so you can amble around in your own time and enjoy the three friaries built here, part of what makes this village unique. Of course we are just down the road from Limerick City, known to all as The Lady City, the Treaty City, Ireland’s sporting Capital or most recently Ireland’s designated Cultural Capital. Whichever we refer to it as, there is no doubting its deep medieval heritage and that’s what we’ll show you as well as its bustling central district, and nightlife. The River Shannon majestically flows through Limerick and there are wonderful boardwalks ta take it all in, including the Treaty Stone – scene of a decisive moment in Irish History in the 17th century. With restaurants and pubs galore we’ll show you a great time here.
Limerick – The Lady City, medieval heritage
Then we’re on to Co Clare on our journey further up the West coast. We’ll visit the Cliffs of Moher – a stunning cliff scape that takes your breath away. We’ll see the Burren Region, a uniquely limestone landscape that is almost literally out of this world. We can see Birds of prey at the famous Aillwee caves, and traditional Celtic Burial sites – the Dolmen graves. After a busy day we’ll stay in your choice of Hotel in Galway City – the heart beet of Ireland’s Western Region as it is central to Connemara – a lush, golden green plain that mystifies the eye as much as it is easy on it. We’ll visit Clifden, a picturesque town typical of Irish Life then and now. All of this is before we get to Ashford Castle which for me is the jewel in the crown. This could be Ireland’s most amazing castle Hotel experience. Nestled in Cong village and close to the amazing Kylemore Abbey you really will be on a retreat here, laid back in the welcoming arms of all that makes Ireland what she is.
Sadly all good things must come to an end, but without endings there can be no beginnings, so we’ll be hopeful that when we drop you off at the airport, you’ll be back with us again before too long with more friends and family. However, we will have time for a last stop along the way at one of Ireland’s most famous distilleries – Tullamore Dew. Tullamore is one of the biggest towns in Midlands Ireland and home to one of the finest whiskeys we have tasted.
