Ireland’s national tourism development agency has created a wonderful product around the Atlantic Coast in Ireland, the Wild Atlantic Way. This has to be welcomed if for no reason other than to offer a compliment and indeed an alternative to Dublin city. Dublin is great of course and we at Executive Hire love to take our clients there for all that it offers visually, and culturally. Executive Hire offer the most personal service to site seeing tours and golf vacations in Ireland with their friendly and professional private drivers, luxury all-Mercedes fleet and unrivaled attention to detail. For many first-timers to Ireland, Dublin like any capital city is the default destination, it’s easy to get to airport wise and is often part of a Western European trip that might include London and Paris. Can we truly say we have experienced any country merely by visiting its capital City?
A dramatic Coastline made for Chauffeur Tours of Ireland
Ireland is blessed geographically as an island. Not only have we Irish an ‘island mentality’ we have an island coastline to behold. The Atlantic coastline stretches from Malin Head Co. Donegal all the way down to Mizen Head Co. Cork, and some. In between there is so much on offer that even if we tried to fit it into a two or three week itinerary, we just couldn’t. To be fair to wildatlaticway.com, it attempts to make sense of what is on offer in all of the magnificent regions included within. You can see the full coastal stretch on navigable maps and you can begin to see what attractions you might like to include in your itinerary here. A directory for hotels, restaurants, and other businesses is available as are some general information items that are useful such as travel tips when in Ireland, how to work with the weather and some history and culture appreciation.

So let’s take 5 of our favourite attractions that are also on the Wild Atlantic Way.
1 Dingle – A beautiful fishing village where the harbour fleet supplies fresh fish daily to towns for mile around. With Mount Brandon behind it and the harbour in front of it, the Dingle Peninsula is just a feast for the eyes and perhaps what we would all call quintessentially Irish. Close to so many other places of distinction such as Killarney, Slea Head and Kenmare. You can visit the breath taking beach at Dunquinn, setting for the famous film ‘Ryan’s daughter.’ Simply a ‘must’ for any family tour of Ireland.
2 Kinsale – Not too far from Cork City lies the old heritage town of Kinsale. Once it owed its fortunes to fishing, nowadays its one of Ireland’s culinary hotspots. A favourite haunt of ours is Fishy Fishy! With narrow and winding streets full of craft shops, pubs cafes, and restaurants, you can while away the hours. Kinsale is of course home to Old Head Kinsale Golf Club, which we believe is Ireland’s most iconic golf links experience, it truly is a unique to the world gem. Kinsale is often a feature of our luxury tours Ireland itineraries.
3 Ballyvaughan – This coastal village has an image that matches every postcard of Ireland. With bright walls set against an Atlantic backdrop, we love dropping by here with our guests. This place is like an old friend who is always happy to see you, and with a welcome to beat them all. A seafood lunch here on a fine day, a sing-song in the afternoon and a few tall tales from the locals puts you in fine form indeed for a visit to the nearby Burren – a geologically unique limestone plateau that might make you think your on some other planet! We often include a visit to nearby Neolithic Dolmen graves when we visit Ballyvaughan.
4 Leenane – Up around Connemara, the lush green landscape has a sort of golden hue to it, you might remember it from the film ‘The Field’ starring Richard Harris who is sadly no longer with us. This area is a myriad of lakes and inlets, typical of millennia of Atlantic coastal erosion. Very close by is Cong where Ashford Castle offers one of the finest Irish Castle 5 star experiences you will find. The terrain around this part of Ireland is such that this area is often best explored on a chauffeur tours Ireland service with a private driver.
5 Adare – With not one, not two but three Friaries, Adare may be small in size but big on historical stature. Home to the 1850’s built Adare Manor, and quaint streets lined with thatched roofs, Adare truly is Ireland’s prettiest village. A golfers delight, Adare boasts the hardest opening hole in golf. With a heritage centre, and boutique shopping galore, Adare is not only an ideal place to base yourself for any customized tours Ireland itinerary, it’s a destination in its own right!
